Camille Asia is love remembering themself.

A Blackqueer cypher between heaven and earth, an ode to Black girlhood, and a hymn of unhurting, Camille's work lives and breathes at the intersection of consciousness, Blackqueer vulnerability and intimacy, ancestral healing, dreaming, reproductive justice, and Kuumba, the sixth principle of Kwanzaa.

Camille’s practice is a meditation on love.

My yoga session with Camille was stellar. They led me through a routine uniquely crafted for my emotional, spiritual and physical needs. Through a series of passive folds, deep stretches, and breathing work, they created an atmosphere of true peace for me. Amidst the turmoil of global genocide, and the personal struggles I am overcoming in my life, Camille used their mastery of yoga technique to crack open an oasis for me, in which I could pause, release, cry and create. Their deep care, love, and attentiveness in-session is precisely what makes their practice so sacred- even when mediated in a digital space that can feel highly impersonal. I’ve studied in several yoga studios all across the country, and their teaching has been the best yet. Book them immediately.

I meant to write this days ago but my nervous system has been in such a blissful state since my session with Camille that I just decided to embrace that feeling. It was a magical experience. We began by checking in with each other, and acknowledging the energy that we were bringing into the session. We hit on many themes, including but not limited to fear of change, transitions, love/relationships (with self and others) and death. Once we moved into movement, I was gently guided through an assortment of stretches, poses and breathwork until I reached what I would refer to as nirvana. I told them I wanted to acquire new mental strategies in order to master stillness, and they definitely understood the assignment. I feel like I walked away from that session not only feeling super light and calm in my body, but feeling confident that I have the necessary tools to achieve this blissful state of body and mind whenever I need to. I can’t recommend Camille’s sessions enough. Looking very much forward to the next one!

I am always relatively hesitant when entering spaces where I will have to move my body and I was feeling a similar resistance, but less so because of Camille and I’s previous conversations about the way they create and guide their flows. I was grateful to be greeted with such open arms and grounding energy, and I was even more reassured when we didn't start immediately with movement. Instead, we started with visualizing what I needed from the time spent together and created an understanding of how to move forward. That was an initial difference I noticed from this yoga class as opposed to other classes I’ve been to, and it was so greatly appreciated. We moved forward with a short journal session that really put my head in a more optimistic and open space, then continued on with movement that was gentle and allowed me to always feel in control of my body and my pacing. Feeling in control of myself allowed me to give even more trust to the space and to Camille. I felt held, truly.
